A powerful, user-friendly, software package, RAMS is designed to successfully manage rail defects. It stores in excess of 50 attributes on each defect, allowing a comprehensive description of each defect to be made. Amongst others, inputs to the system include:
- Defects discovered by ultrasonic inspections
- Welds that have failed their inspection
- Defects covered by visual inspection e.g Corrugation, Squats, Wheel burns
