Balfour Beatty Rail Acquires Saab Communications Signalling Business
Balfour Beatty Rail, a division of Balfour Beatty plc, the international engineering, construction and services group, announces today that it has acquired the Nordic signalling operations of Saab Communications.  

This is part of Balfour Beatty Rail’s strategy to broaden its multi-disciplinary capabilities and to further build up its signalling expertise.  Recently the Group announced new joint ventures for signalling solutions with Bombardier in Germany and Alstom in the UK.  In 2004 it acquired Bombardier’s UK Solid State Interlocking Signalling resources.
