Euston Area Remodelling
The Euston Area Remodelling project was the largest, most complex single contract of its type ever undertaken in the UK.

Part of the larger West Coast Route Modernisation (WCRM) programme, Balfour Beatty Rail Projects, in an Alliance with Railtrack and Westinghouse Signals, undertook the complex multi-discipline project encompassing the complete renewal of the railway infrastructure assets of this majr London terminal station.

This contract required the remodelling of the mainline railway infrastructure in the approach to the station, whilst the station remained operational for the 145,000 people and 600 train movements, using the station daily.

The works included the reconfiguration and renewal of the track layout to remove operational conflicts, the renewal of the overhead line equipment and third rail, as well as extensive re-signalling works and the replacement of signal gantries. Associated civil engineering works and drainage works were also carried out as part of the project.
