Balfour Beatty Rail AB, together with YIT Building Systems AS, has been awarded the contract to install overhead contact line and railway technical equipment for the line between Sandvika and Asker, west of Oslo. This is part of a new double track project being built by Jernbaneverket and the first section has a length of 9 km.
Balfour Beatty Rail is the main contractor and our part of the project includes overhead line work and 22 kV installations. State-of-the-art custom made road-rail vehicles for the catenary installations have been acquired and will first be utilized in this project.
