Balfour Beatty Rail was awarded the 25kV AC Railway Electrification project, connecting Caracas to Cua.
The scope of work included the engineering, procurement and commissioning of the following subsystems:
- 90km single track, 25kV AC overhead contact line
- 1 sub-station 115 / 27.5kV AC
- 6 sectioning points 27.5kV AC
- 1 depot featuring a 10km electrified line
- 1 shop maintenance
The line was inaugurated and entered into service on 16 October 2006. |
