Balfour Beatty Rail was the general contractor, in Joint Venture with Amec Spie (ARGE NÜRI), for the electrical equipment for the 72 km high-speed line between Nuremberg and Ingolstadt.
The scope of work included signalling systems, telecommunication, overhead contact line, power supply substations (two substation 15 kV 16 2/3 Hz), auxiliary power supply and electrical tunnel equipment. Balfour Beatty Rail is also responsible for the coordination with civil works contractors and third parties.
