Using our 3D modelling capabilities, Balfour Beatty Rail Projects is able to provide a photo-realistic visualisation of a railway project to allow stakeholders to make important decisions about a project’s final design.
For instance, by working closely with the design team at an early stage, our visualisation resource can ensure that potentially problematic co-ordination issues are resolved at the earliest opportunity. The method of visualisation can also be used at a variety of stages on a project to present ideas and enable early stage optioneering.
With railway project designers increasingly needing to consider the environmental impact of any proposed schemes, the visualisation of a proposed project allows the project team, general public and other stakeholders to “see” how the completed works will look.
3D animation is produced from a combination of stills, movie pictures, technical drawings etc. Designs can be overlayed to offer a high definition simulated CD or DVD.
Visualisation has excellent practical uses in station works, platform construction, track renewals, signal layout changes, signal sighting and any other situation where a representation of how a project “looks” is hugely important – for example, the installation of new light rail systems in urban environments.
The advantages of visualisation continue beyond the completion of a project as it can be used for driver training and route familiarisation. |
