Substations for the Bologna~Verona doubling railway line
Balfour Betty Rail SpA, acting as a leader of an ATI (Temporary Association of Contractors) with Alstom Transport Systems SpA and Ansaldo Trasporti Sistemi Ferroviari SpA, was awarded for the engineering, supply and erection of three new 132/3 kV DC electrical converter substations at Tavernelle (Bologna), Mirandola (Modena) and Ostiglia (Mantova), on the Bologna - Verona line, in the north of Italy.

The scope of work also includes:
  • Buildings and relevant civil works
  • Revamping of one electrical converter substation at Crevalcore (Bologna)
  • Construction of one complete sectioning point at Poggio Rusco (Mantova)
  • SCADA system
Total contract value is 13 million Euro.
