Balfour Beatty Rail scope comprises a turnkey delivery of power supply and third rail system. This included a 15km double rail system equipped with aluminium composite rail, 8 completely equipped 750 VDC traction substations, 33 kV cable ring along the track with 3 infeeds from the national grid, 8 remote terminal units (RTUs) for remote control via a control centre, SCADA central control equipment as double computer system and a short circuit devices in stations.
The system was handed over to STAR in Kuala Lumpur for use during the Commonwealth Games in 1998.
