Balfour Beatty Rail Germany has a long-standing experience in railways dating back to 1889, when AEG (predecessor to the current Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH) made its first electrification installation in Germany.
We combine our well-established position and presence in Germany with a long experience in export, focusing on Asia, Eastern and Western Europe. Our international division, Operations International, targets markets for electrification in which Balfour Beatty Rail is not present with a subsidiary. Regionally, Operations International focuses on the countries of the European Union and on its acceding countries, as well as selected allocated countries such as China, Korea, Philippines, Switzerland and Israel. We are able to provide facilities such as signal technology, telecommunication and other power supply facilities.
We have comprehensive knowledge and an extensive portfolio in rail electrification, that we combine with project management skills and experience for multi-disciplinary projects. Our expertise covers the whole process from system studies and design, to supply, project management, installation and commissioning. We can offer our customers turnkey systems, as well as sub-systems and specific products or components. We have the ability to undertake both upgrade and new construction for main line, metro, light rail and industrial rail.
Our signalling business is not only a capable partner in the assembly and production of railway signal systems, but in conjunction with allied company divisions such as overhead electrification cabling, power supply systems, 50 Hz electronic and telecommunication technologies we also offer the possibility of integrating complex signal technology equipment projects.
